2 hours in Brussels - What can I do? |
Travel Info I've two hours to spend in Brussels whilst waiting for my train connection (in the morning)....any ideas/tips/recommendations on what I could do? Thanks ! PS, where can I buy good wine to bring home? Travel Tips Grande Place is the best place to go. Go around the corner and see the Mannequin Pis - the statue of the peeing little boy. It's weird, but it's the biggest tourist attraction there. And on your way back, buy chocolate...forget the wine. If you want alcohol, go with beer. Others You do realise Brussels in is Belgium, eh? You should try to sleep for 2 hours. You'll find the best wine in your local supermarket when you get home. There's bound to be a McDonalds..... eat pommes frites with mayo and go see grand place(Grote Markt). It's the gothic center square of the city and most notable landmark probably. Assuming your connection is at Brussel-Centraal you should be able to pop over for a look no problem. It's walking distance. http://www.lonelyplanet.com/destinations... in simple u can enjoy You could go to Sablon, it's one of Brussels' nicest places, with loads of exclusive shops, chocolatiers such as Marcolini, cafes & restaurants . I believe you should be able to purchase wine inside Brussels South station. Have a nice trip ! |
