Where is the best place to go in Brussels for real Belgian chocolate? Oh, and I don't want to spend a fortune! |
Travel Info Directions fron the southern train station (Bruxelles-Midi / Brussel-Zuid) would help too!!! Travel Tips In Brussels South station there is a Godiva shop opposite gate 20 (take the main corridor) They have good chocolates but they are slightly more expensive than Leonidas chocolates... In the subway under need South station there is a small Leonidas shop... When you stop in Brussels, go down the rolling stairs (gate 2 or 3 if I'm not mistaken), cross the central corridor - on your left hand side there is a cafe/sandwich shop where a zebra is drinking coffee (not a real one of course, but you can't miss it) - go into this corridor (keep the zebra on your left hand side), go down two rolling stairs and you'll be in the subway station... right in the middle of it you'll see the Leonidas shop, you can't miss it! Bon appetit! Source(s): I work in Brussels and pass the South station everyday Other Travel Tips Turkish buddy on your tail zuid station basement and downstairs LEON陌DAS all kinds of choclate even the ones with alcohol inside The best place to buy Belgian chocolate is Amsterdam airport. They have tons of the stuff, and it's all great!!! Just fly in, buy the goods and fly back out. It's like a long distance chocolate shopping mission. The rewards are significant though. Just don't eat all the chocolate on your way back. Leonidas and the best of the best: DELRAY (Antwerp) De Keyzerlei hoek Herentalsestraat. The one in Brussels near station is in the Rue Neuve Bon appetit! I live in Brussels. I recommend "Leonidas" chocolate, but its not that cheap. Or else buy some "Cote D'or" that you can find in any supermarket(GB,Match,Carrefour... a very reasonable price.Personally i like the Cote d'Or alot. Its not pricey and very delicious. Good luck It depends of what you are looking for. If you're talking about "praline" the best brands are Neuhaus, Leonidas, Godiva etc... you can find those small shops in every commercial neighborhoods in Brussels, you best bet to find on easily is near the "Grand Place", there are plenty of those shops in the area. You should notice that those chocolates are quite pricy. On another hand, you can buy chocolate tablets in any supermarket (Delhaize, GB...). Most famous brand is "Cote d'Or" and those will be a lot cheaper but less typical though. Directions: Take any of the underground tramway in Bruxelles-Midi (direction Bruxelles-Nord) and stop at Bourse-Beurs and you'll get both there, supermarkets and praline shops. |
