Good hotels in Brussels near Eurolines Bus Station (North Bus St) ? Is it a good place to stay with family ?

Travel Info
Hi there,
I am going to be in Brussels in the first weekend of June. I will be going there by Eurolines Bus, nad they will drop me at the North Bus Station in Brussels.

Is it a safe place to stay with wife and kid ? Are there any decent budget hotels / B&Bs around there ?

Also, is it easy to go to the attractions of Brussels (and the town center) from the North Bus Station if I were to use public transport ?

I also want to go to Bruges and Ghent for one day each. Is it easy to get Bus/Train from the North Bus Station to Bruges and Ghent ? (or should I stay in Bruges and Ghent for one night each, instead of travelling from Brussels?)

Thanks for all your help.

Travel Tips
North Station area = red light district of Brussels... (not fully convenient for kids, I guess.)
There, you'll find cheap hotels, that's for sure but I'd recommend you to go closer to the city center (which isn't far away from the RL district.)

Send me an e-mail and I'll be glad to help you more with my Brussels experience. Source(s): Was born in Brussels and still live there.

I found you an other link you might want to look at ... http://www.brusselsdiscovery.com/wabxlin...

Here is also a map of Brussels

Now, if you ask me if the surroundings of Brussel North are save... I honestly don't know but I do know that on one side of the trainstation there are, how can I put it decently, houses where women have male visitors for an hour or half an hour and they are not playing cards if you understand what I'm saying...

To visit Bruges and Ghent... take the train; there are no buses that go there... Any station (North, Central or South) will do.

If you have more questions, you can always e-mail me.
