Travel Info A friend and I are going to Brussels for 2 nights (Th & Fr). We like all kinds of things. Any ideas? Travel Tips go to Chez Leon in Grand Place and enjoy oysters with 'La Leffe' or 'Duvel' beer Others Take time to discover Brussels, the European Capital, there is much to see and discover. The Grand Place (market) more than 1.000 years old! with "Manneke-pis" and go drink a real Belgium beer (750 different) in Cafe" La Chalouppe" and eat " Boterham met Platte Kaas" Believe me you will be delighted! Also go visit " Toone" puppet theater, The Atomium (1958), and so many more.. Enjoy it! Gilbert To add to Gilbert's list (I live in Brussels too), you could try going to the Poekenellekelder (a great caf茅 right across from the Manneken Pis), the Fleur en Papier Dor茅 (a really historic caf茅, where Magritte and his friends used to go, on rue des Al茅xiens), the For锚t de Soignes (a beautiful beech forest on the outskirts of the city - REALLY nice at this time of year), the Musical Instruments Museum, the Victor Horta house (on rue Am茅ricaine, an art nouveau house), the flea market on the Place de Jeu de Balles (every day of the year, from first thing in the morning until about 1.30 PM), the Art Museum on Place Royale (both old and modern art)....then there's a great place to have delicious cr锚pes....Sucr茅 et Sal茅, by metro station M茅rode. Have a great time! The Beer circus is a great spot, It has over 200 belgian beers to try but don't drive back to your hotel. Personally I would eat outside the centre as it is expensive and they charge you extras like sitting outside. Go to Avenue Toison D'or this is where there is a lot of Bars and resteraunts and lots of Brits and Americans hang around there |
