Chocolate? |
Travel Info What is the best brand of chocolate in Belgium? Godiva? Neuhaus? Leonidas? which one? Travel Tips Here are my advices as a Belgian Chocolate Lover... 1) Neuhaus - (Everywhere in Belgium) 2) Pierre Marcolini - (Petit Sablon) 3) Jean Philippe Darcy - (Rue au Beurre near the Grand Place) 4) Godiva - (Everywhere in Belgium) 5) Galler - (Everywhere in Belgium) 6) Leonidas (Everywhere in Belgium) You might not know Pierre Marcolini or Jean Philippe Darcy but they are the new generation of Belgian Chocolates producer and they are far more sophisticated than traditional brands. Others Godiva Eh....Leonidas my dear...It is known(but without the 300 soldiers)Dont be angry greeks, i am greek.. I would say Godiva, they're dearer but worth it But there are also many smaller firms who sell good quality chocolate Galler is the best one I love praline with puffed rice and fresh pistachios filling and also I love dark pralin茅 with coconut filling http://www.galler.com/rubriques/?keyrubr... http://www.galler.com/index.html... Providas! (if it's still existing in Brussels ).here in Antwerp it's gone. Leonidas is not real chocolate! The other brands are very expensive. Neuhaus is not good at all. I would recommend and it's cheap, buy Callebaut chocolate in the Belgian supermarket and make your own pralines, easy and cheap and delicious. By the way, those posh so called self made pralines in the shops are mostly made with the Callebaut pearls. Not many shops make pralines really from the base aka the cacao bean. |
