What is the easiest way to go from Rio de Janeiro to Buzios?Is it safe to drive in Brazil?

Hi Bubbles, I live in Sao Paulo but have visited Rio de Janeiro and Buzios several times. It is great, you're going to love it. I always arranged for private transfers from my hotel in Rio to my hotel in Buzios (about a 3hr drive). These transfers are easy, safe and don't cost that much. However I am almost positive that there are Buses that travel between Rio and Buzios cheaply. Staff at your hotel in Rio will be glad to help you with arrangements or directions. You can also drive if you have rented a car. The roads between Rio and Buzios are safe but my drivers only stopped at one rest area along the way because they believed the others to be unsafe (bandits looking for tourists etc..)
