What is the nicest hotel in Bermuda? |
Travel Info I stayed at Elbow Beach before and was a bit disappointed, the rooms were kind of shoddy. Are there any nicer places? Travel Tips It depends on what you are looking for - do you want a resort or something smaller and B&B-ish? There are lots of resorts other than Elbow Beach. I always stay at Grotto Bay. It is pretty reasonably priced (for Bermuda), and has a lot of amenities - 3 restaurants (2 indoor, one pool/waterside), on-site water sports, ligher tennis courts, excellent concierge service, a workout room, and underground caves - one of which you can actually swim in. Grotto Bay is also a great location for getting around the island - more bus routes pass by it than any other hotel). It is also withing walking distance to the Swizzle Inn, and Crystal Caves. There is good snorkelling there, too. I have heard that both of the Princess hotels (Hamilton and Southampton) are very nice, particularly the Southampton one (the Hamilton one is in the city, so you don't get a beach). The Reefs is a smaller hotel, but very nice with spectacular views. The Wyndham has closed - which is a shame, because it was a pretty cool place. If you want something more B&B-ish, you probably, no definitely, are not going to get any better than Salt Kettle House. It is extremely reasonably priced, the owner makes a full English breakfast every day (included in the price), arranges to have someone pick you up at the airport (saving you a wad of cash that a taxi would cost), and it is located about a 5-minute walk from the ferry to Hamilton, so you have great access to the whole island. Other guesthouses include Greenbank (pretty nice, good swimming area), Erith House, Aunt Nea's Inn, and Oxford House. 9 Beaches is a "cottage colony" - lots of individual bungalows. It has several over-the-water units, and many on-land units. It is very picturesque. Two other very nice cottage colonies are Ariel Sands, and the Pink Beach Club. Others go to tripadvisor.com Try The "Ariel Sands" cottage community with private beach, 3 pools, Michael Douglas and Kathryn Z Jones own it. www.arielsands.com Pink Beach Club, it's in Tucker's Town (very exclusive area). www.pinkbeachclub.com 9 Beaches 84 cabanas spread over 18 private acres. www.9beaches.com You can also search the Bermuda Telephone directory www.bermudayp.com I like Aunt Nea's Inn, it's a nice B&B with free wifi, plus you can walk to town (St George) from there. www.auntneas.com Grotto Bay is nice too, location, nice pool, Swizzle Inn within walking distance, caves on property, but thin walls.:( www.grottobay.com The Wyndham Bermuda Resort & Spa in Southampton is one of the highest-ranked hotels in Bermuda. http://www.resideo.com/bm/southampton/26... You can read more info, view pics, check rates & book online at the link above. I think you'll enjoy the Wyndham! St. George's Club Hotel. 5/5 for me! |
