It will depend on which boat you would be sailing on.

Generally speaking, Carnival is not one of the best lines. Most of the time the food is not up to par with some of the other lines. Service can tend to be a little bad and rooms aren't always clean, and usually the ships could use some cleaning/updating.

But again, it will depend on the boat. Some of the newer boats are really nice. This line is a budget line and attracts mostly young families and younger kids, college aged, that are wanting to cruise. You will see a lot of partying and drinking on board, as well as gambling. It can be hard to avoid, so if you aren't wanting to get into that type atmosphere, you may want to look into another line.

If you have cruised before, I would be very careful going with Carnival. There standards aren't always as high as other lines. If this is your first cruise, you will likely have a great time. It is a nice starter cruise.

If you are used to higher quality environment, you may want to look into another line. I would also look into Royal Caribbean, they are a little more costly, but worth the extra cost.

THEY ARE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND OFTEN AMONG THE CHEAPEST.
THEY ARE GEARED MORE FOR YOUNGER FAMILIES WITH YOUNGER KIDS.
MY FAVE CRUISE LINE IS ROYAL CARIBBEAN FOR FUN AND CELEBRITY FOR THE FOOD.

My parents do a lot of cruising on Princess, Holland America, and Norwegian. Everyone they talk to says that Carnival is the worst, but of course they're all classy rich people. I think Carnival would be fine if you're just an average person wanting to have a fun cruise.
