I am a Filipino citizen. Is living in Bermuda practical? |
Travel Info I am a Filipino citizen. Is living in Bermuda practical? Travel Tips Bermuda is a very small island, only about 22 miles long and about 5 wide. That means that housing is limited. All houses built have to have a cistern (a water caatching system to catch ran water under the house). Everything you eat there has to be imported. Prices for almost everything are high. Tax rates are high. If you are rich, go for it, otherwise I would find another place. Source(s): www.bermuda.com Other Travel Tips watch out for the bermuda triangle... it'll suck ya up...! Why not!sure it is! First of all, it is very hard to go live in Bermuda. The only way you can do it is if you find a job. The company that will hire you has to hire you because they couldnt find anybody internaly (Bermuda citizens) the the required qualifications. Once you get a job, its usualy for a maximum of 2 years. You can exceptionnaly stay up to 6 years but the company has to convince the immigration that they cannot survive without you anymore...which is very hard! Only 20% of workers are expats. Also, eventhough you have a lot of money (i dont know what your situation is) you wont be able to buy or to start a company, unless more than 50% of the revenues will belong to a Bermudian. It is not possible to look for a job while traveling there, you have to find your job from outside the country through placement agencies. The benefits of working in Bermuda is higher salaries, low taxes, an enhanced quality of life and the opportunity to experience a different culture. Good luck My husband is born in Bermuda. www.bermuda4u.com yes it is bermuda is open to many diverse groups of people from all walks of life....enjoy! but you must wear the infamous bermuda shorts-plaid with white ankle socks...lol! |
