What are the best moderately priced resorts in Bermuda and why? |
Travel Info I know there are many 5 star resorts, but I can't afford them this year. I do want to go and stay at a modestly priced location. Travel Tips There are lots of bargains on the internet. It depends on how flexible you are. Grotto Bay has some specials, and Aunt Nea's (check spelling) has nice rooms and is less expensive. Obviously a full service resort can cost big bucks. Others Good luck as everything in Bermuda is extremely expensive, including lodging, food, car rental and gas. If you can afford a cruise that includes Bermuda as one of it's ports, you will be much better off, especially on a limited budget. tvl agent Try looking into guesthouses - Salt Kettle House and Greenbank Guest Houses are 2 that I looked into before that are both very reasonable - Salt Kettle House books up fast, though. Other guesthouses are Erith House (which I have never seen, but met someone who sayed there and said it was nice), Old Rectory, and Greene's Guest House. Also, check out www.bermudarentals.com - a lot of residents rent out a room or apartment attached to their home - a lot of these are very reasonable, some as low as $50/night. Keep in mind that if you go one of these routes, the likliehood that you will be on the water is minimal. Greenbank does have a nice waterfront and a dock for swimming. Also, getting around might be a problem unless you rent a moped - you might have a good walk to the closest bus stop. There are numerous guest houses around the island and they are your best bet.
