Travel Info I'm thinking about a quick trip from NYC with my partner. Is Bermuda gay friendly? Travel Tips The short answer is no and yes. But more no. I have visited Bermuda many times as I have family there. Bermudians are generally very conservative - not particularly homophobic. They are also extremely polite. This means that open displays of affection in public places (by anybody) are likely to be frowned upon, but nobody is likely to harass you. If the advice of a straight woman is any help, I would feel free to hold hands in public, but not free to engage in passionate kissing in downtown Hamilton. Rubbing oil on each other at the beach is probably ok - intense making out at the beach - not so ok. Keep in mind that this is an island where you will be publicly chastised for riding your scooter in a swimsuit instead of donning proper clothing. It's also an island with many beaches that are beautiful and deserted or nearly so. My vote would be to go, have a wonderful time, soak up the lovely experience of being in Bermuda and have incredibly hot nights in your hotel room or steamy afternoons when you find those secluded beaches. Happy travels! Others Nah, not in the caribbean, stay in NYC with that. We in "JAMAICA" DO NOT SUPPORT AS WE CALL IT "BATTYMANISM" you might get a 3 STAR if you dont know what that is ask someone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you're on a cruise ship you'd be safer than if you were in a hotel on the island. |
