Travel Info Is Illinois is a state in Switzerland? Travel Tips No. Others i've been to switzerland 2 times and have never heard of Illinois as a place in switzerland. They have Bern, Lucern (spelling?) but honestly I don't think i recall hearing anythin about illinois. But of course i know nothing about geography either. I'm just going on personally experience DEFINITELY NOT! Believe me there is no Kanton (state) called IIIinois in Switzerland.
