Travel Info What are the two best tourist destinations in switzerland? Travel Tips City destination: Zurich. Biggest city in Switzerland, plenty of museums, places for shopping, large cultural life. 2nd option: Lugano; medium-size city, in the italian part of the country, on the shore of an alpin lake; calm and nice city. Mountain destination: St Moritz; high-class ski resort in the middle of the Alps, ideal for skiing and relax in a 4-5 stars hotel. 2nd option: Zermatt; car-free village on the foot of the Cervino/Matterhorn. Perfect basis for hiking in the Alps (for this, also consider Interlaken) Others alps (note the S) Geneva - International city with lots of museums and international organizations. Have the UN, Red Cross and lots of foreigners. I am living in Switzerland right now, and I think... well, I know you said two but... :) aww well... 1. Zurich (biggest, lots to do, beautiful buildings, not far from alps, etc.) 2. Lugano (open people, lots to do, warm, palm trees, beautiful lake, lots of italian influence, alps) 3. Geneva (simply gorgeous and in the french part) 4. Zermatt (a tiny little ski town with no cars, tucked under the panorama with the Matterhorn... it is breathtaking, BUT there isn't THAT much to do... but cozy) Well, I hope I have been of help :) |
