Switzerland schools? |
Travel Info can someone tell me all they know about the school system in switzerland. Travel Tips dear kristy, you havent an idea! schools in switzerland are definitely better than US schools! but youre right theres much less discipline over here which is nice and you dont have to get up everrrrrrrrrrrry morning to listen to the national anthem and the pledge of alligance. Otherwise the gradeing system is completely different, its not letters from A to F its numbers from 1 to 6 (1 being the worst, 6 being the best). Yea, and then a lot of schools dont have block schedules, so you have different times you go to school everyday and different times for coming home. So if youre not up for that you can still go to an international school, theres plenty in switzerland and theyre good too. Others Better? More jokes? Only nine years education are required in Switz. and hence the pop. is quasi-illiterate. Kids are out in the streets until 2 am - thing never seen in the US so apparently have no homework. Long lunches and short days so Moms can't work. My grandmother born in the US in 1895 had 8 yrs education. This is 2006. The Swiss are 50 plus years behind in everything including women's rights (where they are 150 yrs behind Mississippi). Speaking as a product of the Swiss school system, I liked it. Just for a different perspective: At university in London almost no one spoke a foreign language as well as I did French (which I had to take for 8 years) & my math knowledge was more advanced than that of most fellow physics students. |
