Depends on the type of both...if you take ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) then you have less SOx (sulfur dioxide, etc.) emissions. Diesel also gets better mileage than petrol too, so it can be better for the environment. But if your diesel is not low sulfur, then its emissions are higher than petrol - so what you gain in mileage, you lose in emissions. Both about the same,but you get more miles to the gallon with diesel so thats a bit greener. Diesel is carcinogenic. diesel |
