Travel Tips
Well it depends if you're staying in the city itself or looking to go out to the suburbs.
In the centre is the new Bull Ring shopping centre and there are always tourists (usually Japanese) taking photos of the brass bull statue at the entrance, often with others trying to climb onto it!
I can't think of many places worthy of photos in the centre, but take a walk (weather permitting) along the canals by the National Indoor Arena - it's quite pretty.
To the south west of the city are the Lickey hills, you'll get great views from there, again, weather permitting. Of course, Stratford-upon-Avon is on the way back to London, so you could always stop off there for some good old English culture!

Advice: stay in London!
The canals.
There is nothing much to see in Birmingham. It is a city. Shopping is great in the Bullring Centre.

I would drive south about 40mins to Stratford Upon Avon.

Jump on the Open Top Bus and take a tour around all the important places eg. Shakespeares houses. You can stop and get on and off regularly. They leave from one side of the bridge where all the canal boats are - right near the toursit information centre - who could give you a map so you could drive yourself to see all the beautiful shakespeares houses.
Go on a river boat cruise on a canal boat and have an icecream.
Stratford has some nice shops, you can wander along the riverbank, wander through the town centre and look in the nice shops.
A butterfly and nasty spider farm just alongside the river is worth a trip..
At Oxhill - just further south - there is a horse and donkey rescue centre which you can stroll around and see all the rescued babies (this is a nice place)
You could go to Warwick Castle which is not too far away.
