It is definately fun, especially if you make sure to catch the Lightening display, the 3D show, and go to the Omni IMax theater there. There are a few boring exhibits (just enough so you know you are in a museum lol) but lots of interactive stuff. It's one of the best museums out there, with lot of unique things. And sounds like you might enjoy the Laser show that takes over the Planetarium at night. If you can go, definately do it!

You should check out the schedules for the above at http://www.mos.org/. Some things are only a few times a day, and they alternate what is showing. For ex there are different 3D shows, a choice of Lightening or Electricity, a whole bunch of different Laser shows etc. So if you have a preference good to check times.

Also if you are in MA keep in mind most libraries offer free passes. So considering most of the kewl shows have additional fees now, if you can good to take advantage of at least getting in free. And if you are traveling I know they offer discounts at GoBoston.com.

Its really good. Make the most of it though, and see as many of the shows and exhibits as you can! Go to their website first, and you can make sure you buy tickets for everything. It can take up a big portion of the day! They have laser shows on certain days and times, planetarium exhibits, etc. Plan ahead!
It's one of my favorite places. Very interactive, and lots of cool perfomances going on in either the Mugar Theater or the Planetarium. I'm including their web site. There's always cool stuff going on.
