Where are some good places to go away for a weekend? |
Travel Info from boston, Travel Tips If you're going on a road trip: Rockport, MA - I would seriously recommend this place. It's a quiet little seaside community up on the North Shore with a variety of mom and pop shops along with restaurants and views. Many of them artsy, many of them souvenir-y but a lot of them have their own personalities, and it's quite a beautiful area. I don't think you'll find any major hotels but probably several bed and breakfasts. It's probably a little over an hour driving time. Hyannis, MA - I liked Hyannis but it's in the Cape Cod area, and that area is absolutely horrible during tourist season. But there's a lot to shop around and enjoy on a summer day, in addition being near a lot of shops. Maine - Generally you could go anywhere in Maine and you'll enjoy yourself, that is if you're going in a place by the beach or where it's tourist-friendly. But Maine's got a lot to offer if you don't want to be near any land lines and it's just a drive away. New York City- Seriously you're only four hours away and the Big Apple is what it is, and it's the center of excitement to say the least. Others I always like Plymouth, MA. There's a lot to do. I recommend Capt. John's whale watching and deep sea fishing. Also Wood's Seafood restaurant. The best place I love to go for the weekend is within. I meditate myself away into another universe but I always seem to make it home in time for dinner! Near The Ocean! If you are looking to absolutely relax I suggest going to Napa Valley. Calistoga in northern California has great views of endless miles of vineyards and great spas. The best restaurants you can imagine and the best wines. The mud baths are the best. Weather is great. Anywhere on Cape Cod, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, York Beach Maine, the mountain area of Vermont (Stowe), or the casinos in CT, Newburyport. . . . You're lucky in New England there's lots of places to go! I would say.. 1 Cape Cod 2 New Port - Cliff walk is famous (2 hour drive from boston) 3 Hampton Beach..its not that great but worth once.. |
