Going to Boston in July, staying at the Cambride Hyatt. Is this in a good location?

Travel Info
Going to a baseball game, is it close or easy to get to Fenway?

Travel Tips
You choose one of my favorite hotels, where my Mom used to stay on most of her trips up. Be sure to have breakfast overlooking the Charles there. It's just lovely....awesome view, great food.

I have one other suggestion. If it is a nice day and if you guys don't mind a bit of a walk (I am guessing but I'd say 11/2 to 2 miles...I'm guessing high to be safe). You could cross the street, go left. and walk along the Charles till you get to BU bridge. Then you need to either go to the right or left (you are directly inbetween stops on the B line there), and jump the T to Kenmore. It's such a pretty walk, if it's a nice day, and you'll have a stunning view of the city too. If you have the time, weather and legs, I'd do that at least on the way there.

And if that doesn't work for you, all you need to do is hop the hotel shuttle to the T, get off and Kenmore and you are right there.

EXCELLENT hotel choice!!! It takes a tiny bit more of an effort to get to Fenway from there, since you aren't on the T, but given how lovely it is, I think it's well worth it. And be sure to request a river view, if available. Those are always sooo lovely, and you seldom will get it if you don't reserve one or ask (the give the latter to any rooms with views that haven't specifically been reserved for more $$). Have a great time!

Yes, this is in a great location. Cambridge is a great city so you'll get a chance to see two amazing places in one trip and the Hyatt there is vewry nice.

The hotel has a shuttle service that will take you to the BU stop on the Green Line T. From there, you only need to go a couple of stops to Kenmore which is right outside of Fenway Park.

An alternative would be to take the bus right near the hotel from Amesbury St. & Vassar St. to Park Drive & Fenway Station and then walk about 15 minutes to the park.

I'd suggest taking the Green Line but leave a lot of time as the T gets very crowded on game days.
Great Hotel. But I'm not sure what T station is close to the hotel to get you to Fenway. You can call the Hotel and ask. Chances are it will be a journey to the nearest train station.

Reading M&M88 answer, I guess she's right. BU shuttle bus are everywhere nowadays.
It overlooks the river, but it is not in the middle of anything or even close to anything (except for a Trader Joe's and a discount computer supplies store), so M&M88's comment about the location being "great" is dependent on what sort of environment you want. Central Square Cambridge is about a mile away. So is Fenway Park (maybe a little more) in the opposite direction but I agree with FineWhine it is a rather pleasant walk (you can catch the T's Green Line for half of it but that seems ridiculous to me): a promenade which would take one along the river then a bridge over it with great city views followed by walking through much of the campus of Boston University.
GREAT location. A perfect spot in my opinion. Very close to Fenway.
