If you are coming in October, I would suggest heading up to Maine. There is a great country fair in Fryeburg called the Fryeburg Fair. No matter where you drive, the foliage is awesome. if you are coming in the fall, vermont has really beautiful foliage to see. boston has great history and museums that can be seen year round. (bring warm clothes, because you never know what the weather will be like.) if the weather is nice, the freedom trail is a nice option. if it is early fall, whale watches might still be running. i do know that duck tours (they are amphibious world war ii vehicles that are now used to give tours of boston by land and by sea) run until early november, that's always fun. if there's snow, new hampshire and vermont have skiiing. hope that helps. There's ton's of good sights to see in the White Mountains. Look these up on the internet.... Clark's Trading Post The flume Lost River Mount Washington auto road |
