Is there a bus you can take from Boston to a ferry to Martha's Vineyard? |
Travel Info Is there a bus you can take from Boston to a ferry to Martha's Vineyard? Travel Tips This is a pretty comprehensive list of ways to get on Island. One that stood out is about 3/4 of the way down; http://www.frommers.com/destinations/mar... "By Bus -- Bonanza Bus Lines (tel. 888/751-8800 or 508/548-7588; www.bonanzabus.com) connects the Woods Hole ferry port with Boston (from the new South Station), New York City, and Providence, Rhode Island. The trip from South Station in Boston takes about 1 hour and 35 minutes and costs about $19 one-way, $32 round-trip; from Boston's Logan Airport, the cost is $24 one-way, $42 round-trip; from New York, the bus trip to Woods Hole takes about 6 hours and costs approximately $52 one-way or $93 round-trip." You also might want to look at the other options to see if other options pop out at you and make more sense. Plus there are some other direct routes from Boston ie airplane (kinda pricey). This is a shorter, but clear list of options (but not how to get to them); http://www.mvgazette.com/travel/getting_... This lists various methods of transportation/links to sites; http://www.searchboston.com/dir/travel/d... Hope these help...I think that first 2 links have the most specific info you asked for. Have a blast! Others try going to http://mbta.com if you go to the plan a trip feature, you can map out your entire trip by public transportation, if it is possible. The buses that leave from South Station in Boston can take you to Falmouth and that's where the Ferry is located. It's very easy! |
