Do you think East Boston is a bad area? |
Travel Info Do you think East Boston is a bad area? Travel Tips I don't think so at all. That area is experiencing its own personal Renaissance, and everything is being beautified. There are very nice places to live and surprisingly rent prices are rising in the region, and there is much real estate interest in the area, of course on the waterfront, but also on the other regions. It is an absolutely beautiful cultural area, with many hardworking Central and South American immigrants (for a Spanish speaking person of Hispanic origin, this part of a city is great to get back to one's roots. It's hard when I'm the only Spanish speaker in a place, but that's not the case here in Boston. East Boston is great!) The area also has many Italian-Americans, and just like the North End, the restaurants are great! Did you know that the nation's FIRST branch library was built in EAST BOSTON?? I would even say East Boston is upscale, with the harbor and Logan Airport and everything. It's great. Source(s): Bostonian! Other Travel Tips No. It's filled with spanish-speaking people...but I don't think it's bad if you don't mind. I hate the blue line though...which is the train line that passes through the area. Not if you are old. It's not bad. I wouldn't say it's upscale, like the first answerer...except he is right that some waterfront areas are fairly nice. It's mostly working class...a lot like South Boston used to be. I Iike Eastie, the culture is interesting, the people are nice, and the rent there rocks. The blue line is not bad at all, except the lost people freaking out on the way to the airport. bostonian! |
