Things not to be missed in Boston/Cape Cod?

Travel Info
Travelling next week to Boston/Cape Cod area by car from the midwest. I've been there before, but suggestions on maybe some "off the beaten path" things to do and see? Much appreciated!

Travel Tips
Boston -- of course visit the North End for great Italian food, Fanneuil Hall for a bite of history and a great bite to eat, I would not miss the Museum of Fine Arts and check out Newbury Street shopping and dining as well as the Prudential Center and the City Library on Boylston Street. I highly recommend visiting the parks around the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury; it's an extremely safe area that is located around the community college, near the museum and near the campus of Northeastern.

As for the Cape:

If you're on the upper cape (Bourne, Falmouth, etc.)
-A quiet evening on the Cape Cod Canal is a must--you can bike, take a boat or walk along the shores. It is so beautiful during the summer--you must go! Great for an active activity!
-Falmouth has AMAZING beaches and great shopping! Definitely check out (although this might sound weird) the scenic neighborhoods around Falmouth Hospital. It's nice there.

If you're on the Mid-Cape (Sandwich, Mashpee, Barnstable, Yarmouth)
-There is a lot to see here; you could go along 6A in Sandwich and enter Barnstable to see the beautiful church in West Barnstable and the country store nearby. The Kennedy Museum and Main Street Hyannis as well as Sea Street Beach and the Kennedy Complex, Kalmus Beach and Craigville Beach should not be missed. Cape Cod Mall has great shopping, too. In Mashpee, check out Mashpee Commons--quite possibly the most bustling, beautiful shopping district on the entire Cape. I grew up watching that area transform and it is so beautiful--the architecture, everything!
-The beaches in Yarmouth are absolutely beautiful. There are many beachfront hotels (as there are in Falmouth)

Lower Cape (Everything else!)
-Visit the National Sea Shore and Nauset Beach in Orleans/Eastham. Chatham has beautiful beaches and Brewster is great for biking! Wellfleet and Truro are great for walking trails along the beach, too, and Provincetown is great if you want to take a boat around the Bay.

Other Travel Tips
ok well I am from Boston area and when we vacation to the cape we like to go to zooquarium also we like to go to many unique shops and places to eat I can't remember the name of it but there is a WICKED cute place to eat hae fun hon!
Bostonian
You should try whale watching at least once in your life.

Not sure where on the Cape you wil be, but the Beehive Tavern on 6a in Sandwhich is a good place to eat.
Since you are driving, you will find the off the beaten path stuff along the cape on highway 6A. Depending on your interests there are some great lighthouses and beaches and one you can even stay overnight in. There is a great Inn in Falmouth, the Beach Rose Inn that I have stayed in and the folks and food are wonderful. If you have time while in Falmouth you can take a day trip to Martha's Vineyard Island, a real piece of NE and also where some of the beach scenes in JAWS were filmed. Be sure to hit the Black Dog Tavern (one in Falmouth, one on the Vineyard).

As for Boston, again depends on what you are looking for. There is a farmer's market with unique treasuers on Thursdays and Fridays, the Duck Tour if you want to get some history. And fantastic dining in the North End.

So much more, but how to be concise?
Have fun!
