What is the best hotel location in Boston for sightseeing? How is Qunicy Market/Financial District? |
Travel Info I'm looking for access to major sights and a safe neighborhood. Travel Tips Pretty much most of the downtown hotels are near subway stations. From the Sheraton @ Arlington, to the Doubletree/Swisshotels in the shopping district, to the Westin, etc in the Financial district, you've got a lot of good hotels accessible to major sites. Just use Expedia or hotels.com to see the hotels, then use priceline to zero in on a good deal. Have a great time! Others My favorite is The Inn At Harvard. Its safe, nice location (not in Boston itself of course) and easy for the T. There aren't many hotels in the financial district, more toward downtown. However the hotels in the Copley/Prudential area have good access to the Green Line, from which you can get to Quincy Market/Gov't Center and the Red Line (so you can visit Harvard Square), Science Park, etc. Quncy is OK. Check out the market for some interesting food choices (go hungry). I personally think it's quite touristy, though. For some neat shopping/sightseeing take the redline up to Harvard and walk around outside the T stop there. Market/Financial is great. there's both a green line and a blue line T station within walking distance; it's near the freedom trail and the north end restaurants, and it's safe. |
