Where are some photogenic places in Newport, RI? |
Travel Info My mom wants to take me, my brother and my sister on a day trip to Newport this summer. Im really into outdoor photography so what are some good spots in Newport, RI that would give me some nice shots for my photography collection? Travel Tips The Cliffwalks offer views of both the ocean and of the amazing mansions. The downtown waterfront area will give you great character shots as well. Others Boy, you have plenty of great picture taking in Newport. If you just drive alone the beach road, you will find great water shots, mansions and people. I would not pay to get into the mansions. The exteriors are beautiful. the mansions are beautiful.. the water is everywhere and the landscaping is gorgous... you will be in photography heaven in newport!!! i live in RI and have been 2 newport many times The Newport Bridge at night, Newport Harbor Lighthouse, the mansions. http://www.gonewport.com/viewpostcards.a... the newport mansions are right near the sea First of all, I'm so jealous! I love Newport and miss it very much (I went to school at RWU and lived and worked in Newport for 3 summers!). Along the waterfront is pretty of course. When you go down America's Cup Ave (I think thats the one along the water, right?), follow it to the post office and go slightly right along the shops. Once you reach the end of the shops, take a right. There is a nice park there with great opportunities for shots of the bridge, especially at sunset. If you keep following that road to the right (a few turns - get a map for sure), it will take you to more parks and the mansions. Another option is to take one of the scenic boat ride tours around the harbor - a highly recommend adventure! Have fun! |
