Travel Tips
Here are some ideas if you're willing to pay admission:

My favorite is Boston Science Museum: http://www.mos.org

Boston Children's Museum (Though 8 & 10 may be a little old for it, I'm not sure): http://www.bostonkids.org

New England Aquarium: http://www.neaq.org

If the weather is clear, you can visit the Prudential Center Skywalk Observatory. It's at the top of the Prudential Center building, the second tallest building in Boston. You can walk around to get a 360掳 view of Boston, guided by a little audio tour device like a Walkman: http://www.prudentialcenter.com/shop/sho...

Take a Duck Tour, a tour of Boston on World War II era amphibious vehicles. They'll drive you through the city, and often onto the Charles river: http://www.bostonducktours.com/...

Here are some ideas if you don't want to pay admission.

Explore the area known as "Quincy Market" there's lots of shopping, restaurants, and colonial architecture: http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/...

If you don't mind doing some walking, follow the Freedom Trail. It's a system of red lines painted on the streets and sidewalks of Boston that take you through areas of historical interest: http://www.thefreedomtrail.org/...

I love taking walks through the are known as "Beacon Hill". It's where the Massachusetts capital building (The State House) is located. Explore the little back streets. It's a beautiful neighborhood full of colonial architecture: http://www.beaconhillonline.com/cgi-bin/...
Others
nothing....just go to a movie and get lunch.
Go to new england aquarium it is worth watching
The science museum is good.
I'd suggest the aquarium or the science museum, depending on what your kids are into. Both have ommi theaters, I think the science museum鈥檚 is nicer and they also have a planetarium. Of course, you鈥檙e charged for all these nice extras. You can get a combo ticket, admission and movie or just the admission or movie. You can also look at a VERY small amount of exhibits in the science museum for free, they are located in the lobby and around the entrance to the planetarium and downstairs near the bathrooms they have some animals (snakes, frogs, woodchucks ect) you can observe. The aquarium has sea loins outside near the entrance to the museum so even if your just walking around the city it might be worth stopping by to check them out. If it's a nice day spend some time walking and playing on the commons if you鈥檙e not the indoor type. And see what your kids want to do, my little cousins where fascinated by the T when they came to visit me, because they had never ridden on a train before. .
Take the Duck Tour!!! It is a land and Water tour with grate points interest and you will get a outline of the city's history. Google up Boston Duck Tours and make a reservation as this is a very popular your. Quack Quack ( If you take the tour you will know what I mean)
All my out of town friends love it!
