What is best place for LOBSTERS in Boston area?

Travel Info
Who has the best deal per pound?

Travel Tips
Right now (7/3/07) lobter price off the boat is between 4.50 and 6.00 per pound. As it is July, lobsters are molting and many have soft shells. Soft shells are cheaper and should be purchased for no more than 6.99 per pound. Hardshells can be had for 7.99 per pound. Sagamore Lobster in Portsmouth, NH, just north of Boston has lobsters starting at 6.99 per pound. They don't charge more for hardshell, so getting hard shells for 6.99 is a really good deal. We just bought some for the 4th of July. Source(s): http://www.sagamorelobster.com
Other Travel Tips
James Hook & Co, in front of the Barking Crab is one of the few retail places left in town that sells lobster by the pound.

Other wise I recommend heading to the Hingham Lobster pound.

Both are great, as fresh as can be, but neither are cheap. For cheap your best bet is to hit a local supermarket.
