Anyone know why there is bronzed garbage on the streets in Boston?

Travel Info
We just returned from a trip to Boston and we walked the Freedom Trail. On the way we noticed that there were pieces of trash, such as newspapers, that were bronzed on the streets. Does anyone know the story behind this? I could not find anything on the net. Thanks!

Travel Tips
It is a public art installation, kind of paying tribute to the Haymarket, which is still around. If you were here when Haymarket was open, you'd have noticed lots of street vendors selling produce from carts - everything from fish to melons. When the day was over, tons of trash would be lying on the streets. Haymarket is no longer a daily event, but is still around on weekends. The trash is embedded in the sidewalk as reminder of how big a market that used to be. Source(s): http://www.wgbh.org/pages/bostonarts/pub...
