The cost of living here is disgusting and makes me sick to my stomach that it costs that much. Boston's great but it's not that great.

I think part of what fuels the fact that it's so pricey is that Boston is a college town and a lot of people who come here for school, stay around. It's very expensive to live here. If you go outside the city, you're probably more inclined to find something cheaper. Brighton, Allston, Watertown, Waltham and Quincy are viable alternatives and they're not far away. Brighton and Allston are neighborhoods of the city by the way.

It's pretty expensive unfortunately, but for me it's totally worth it - I absolutely LOVE it in Boston. And it's cheaper than NYC, San Francisco and Washington DC.
Very, very high. Even the suburbs are bad. It's best to live about 25 miles outside the city where it's more reasonable.
It depends on where you live. If you're living in Boston (Back Bay, Downtown...etc.) you'll pay a lot for rent. If you live a little further out, in the Brighton and Allston area, you'll get a bigger place for the same price as a tiny place in the city.
Depends where in Boston you are. Most areas are expensive even outside the city. The only other places that are more expensive are probably NYC or San Fran. . . . But Boston offers a lot of good jobs, depending what field you are in.
