Any experience in living in Brighton? |
Travel Info Studying, accommodation... Travel Tips Hi I moved down here to go to uni in 2001 - 6 years later after graduating still here so it cant be that bad! being a student here was wicked, loads of student nights with varying music and never stuck for a night out! down side of Brighton uni is there is no union bar but soo many bars to make up for it! then there is the beach, Brighton has such a buzzing atmosphere from May throughout the whole summer, there is so much going on - don't let the pebbled beach put you off, its great, the bars on the beach are the best. what more can you ask for - a fabulous city by the sea with so much to do you'll never be bored! Others No, never been there. I've lived here for 35 years apart from a short break of 4 years about a decade ago. I love it. I didn't study here so can't help you with that, but it certainly has a reputation as a great student town. There's plenty of student accommodation dotted all around the town, loads of bars, cafes, restaurants, clubs etc to keep you occupied when you're not studying! It's a great bohemian, hip, tolerant place. There's pretty much nothing you can't do or see here. Fantastic gay scene, outstanding for vegetarians, and you will find a bit of everything here. If you can, stay away from Moulsecoomb and Whitehawk estates but everywhere else is great and safe. I've lived in Brighton for 64 years (born in the place) but was never much good at studying. Hope that doesn't put you off! |
