How do i get from brighton to alton towers on the 9.7.07 and back on the 10.7.07? |
Travel Info train or coach times please Travel Tips Erm... This is probably one of those few journeys where it really is easier with a car. So my first recommendation would be: a car. Trains: This will be a 3.5 hour journey, with the earliest ("affordable") train leaving on the Monday at 7.47am. It arrives at Stoke-on-Trent (which is where Alton Towers is) by 11.06, giving you plenty of time to enjoy yourself. The catch is that there are two changes. This ticket (return) will cost 拢66. With a rail card, it will cost 拢44. So if you are buying this ticket and don't have a rail card, you may as well buy one (they are 拢20) and save yourself 拢2 + a further 1/3 off all train tickets until your rail card expires. If you are stupid with your money, then the 7.16am leaving the same day is the ticket for you. It gets to Stockton-on-Tees by 10.41am. There are two changes and this ticket costs a mere 拢224 for a return. It'd be cheaper to fly to Liverpool International and get a bus. But far cheaper and much more convenient if you had a car. National Express (coaches) do a route from Brighton to Stoke-on-Trent. The catches? You'll have to transfer in London and the journey is near enough SEVEN hours long. That means you'll have to catch the 5:15am coach from Brighton central bus station to get to Alton Towers for just before lunch. it also means when you return the next day, assuming you leave in the afternoon, you won't be home til late. The above ticket will set you back 拢40.50. Chances are the price will increase the sooner it gets to depart date. Perhaps you should get a mate with a car to go with you and give him/her the 拢40.50 instead, because this is what it will probably cost in petrol to get to Alton Towers and back again. So to sum up, if you really want to get to Alton Towers from Brighton, drive. Hope this helps.
