Other Travel Tips
you could go to the pier..and the beach?

otherwise it all depends on what you want to do, i mean brighton is full of things to do, theirs quite a few parks to visit, if your willing to drive, queens park has a large pond with ducks and swans.you could get the kids to feed?
The royal pavilion
The pier
The lanes for shopping
A stroll along the promenade
The Mariana

I am sure there are lots off things for the children to do but not having any off my own all I can comment on is the beach and Pier!
Hi Nattaalot

Follow the link below, it should give you some ideas. Personally I'd recommend Middle Farm, especially if you like cider!

Off the top of my head
Walk along the seafront
Go to the sea life centre - http://www.sealifeeurope.com/
Go to the park
Sit on the beach
Walk on the pier
Go to the Bluebell Railway http://www.bluebell-railway.co.uk/...
Go to the Pavillion
Brighton is fine for adults, don't know what your 3 year old will make of it. A week is a long time there.
Take them on the Volks Railway along the front to the Marina.
Palace Pier, is fine. And Sea World Centre is a typical Sea life centre.
After that, you may get a little stuck at the front, the beach is pebbles only no sand.
But do not dispear! Sussex has a lot to offer and as long as you don't mind the bus and train how about these things. All within 30 - 40 mins of Brighton.
Bus trip to Devils Dyke. Choose a good warm day without much wind. When I took the grandkids up there at 3 and 4, they exclaimed that it must be the top of the world! The views across the Sussex plain is fantastic, paragliders are normally up there chucking themselves off, you have loads of space to allow the eldest to run, scream and play.
Train or Bus to Newhaven Harbour. Looks poor, but head on around to Paradise Park, it is a huge garden centre, does not sound much so far, however, they have converted loads of it to a Dinosaur Museum, a lovely park at the rear with miniture railway, huge play area, more Dinosaurs, fish ponds. We spent 6 hours walking around the place and was very surprised. If you have time the Martello Tower is good for a look, Napoleonic Theme.
Eastbourne has another enclosed play park area thats got sand, slides, etc, etc. As well as a different pier and beach.
In the other direction...
Littlehampton, great place for Sandcastles, beautiful big beach that seems to stretch out for a mile when the tide goes out, train drops you at the harbour so not far to walk, then a small funfair at the harbour entrance.
Arundel Wetland Centre, great for little ones, see the wildlife, investigate all the little wriggly things from the water, etc. The castles ok but more adultish again.
Amberley Chalk Pits Museum. Great working place, Blacksmiths old workings, little tractors rides, quite fun, kids love it and best of all, just outside of train station.
Going Inland, Bluebell Railway. Trip to Haywards Heath and then Bus connection from there, great for noise, steam and the original Tank Engine, Stepney, take a ride on the panorama train to enjoy the feeling.
If you opt for travel by train around the area, both the kids go free on Southern Railway, plus ask for the Southern Special Days Out leaflet and you will get some more ideas and discounts with train tickets getting into some of these places.
Hope it helps.
Enjoy Sussex.
