Fashion in Brisbane?

I am traveling to Brisbane (among many other places in Australia) for 5 months this coming July-November. Problem is I can't bring a lot of my clothes and I was wondering what the current trends were, prices for clothing, and basic things I should bring for my trip. Any suggestions? I can use all the advice I can get! (also any advice on clothes to bring for the seasons?)

trends for clothing, whatever you wish to wear.

for those months though I would bring jeans, jumpers, tshirts, thongs, boots, undies of course.

maybe some shorts too or skirts - it doesnt get that cold in Bne only overnight - and some days you may want to wear thongs, skirt and shirt.

and if your travelling up far nth Qld - its warmer thru the day and night. if your going down far sth to Vic or NSW - wear clothes for the cooler days/nights.
November will be getting warm. Jeans and t shirts or shorts are fine. It may even be hot earlier than then but take a jumper and light coat too as the nights can be cool.
Prices -- depends where you're travelling FROM, but prices in Oz generally very cheap compared to the rest of the world.

If you're travelling, travel light.

Buy an Akubra hat there. Absolute must.

Take a 5.11 shirt -- great for travelling and they do a women's version.

Don't worry -- the shoulder straps come in a separate bag and don't need to be attached. Those big hidden pockets are absolutely fantastic for travelling and totally secure.

Skirts are worn more in Oz than in the US or UK..

Try to aim at going with more or less what you're wearing and a change of undies, then buy anything else you need there.

If you're going to use public transport at all, remember you'll have to carry it all -- Aussies expect you to have no more than one backpack TOTAL. They're masters of the art of backpacking -- the world's best -- and don't take kindly to people turning up with large suitcases.

Beware of their metal detectors at airports -- they're about the most sensitive in the world. Don't even think about taking underwired bras. Indeed one of the nice things about the 5.11 shirts is that there's absolutely no need for a bra underneath it while travelling.
