Advise wanted on homes near Brisbane's sunshine coast? |
Travel Info Hi there, me again asking Aussies what they think of these areas to rent/live. Apparently these are near the sunshine coast region Gympie, Berserker, Park Avenue and North Rockhampton. Would appreciate any advise. We will be looking to be in nice areas and near schools and hospitals, nursing homes. Thanks Travel Tips Berserker and Park Avenue are both suburbs of/around North Rockhampton. Nowhere near the Sunshine Coast - much further north. Rocky's a great place if you're in the meat industry - it's the cow capital of Qld. Gympie is about an hour north of the Sunshine Coast, in the Cooloola Shire I think. Sunshine Coast regional towns include Maroochydore, Nambour, Palmwoods, Maleny, Kenilworth, Flaxton, Woombye, Alexandra Headlands, Palmwoods, Kawana, Currimundi, Noosa, Marcoola, Tewantin, Buderim, Peregian, Sunshine Beach, Noosaville, Bli Bli, Caloundra, Dicky Beach, Landsborough etc etc etc. Do a search on any of these towns. They all have nice areas, are near schools and nursing homes and there are quite a few hospitals in that area too. Other places to look might include the Harvey Bay area (population explosion happening there). Good luck! Others you know they have a snake season every year when the damn things migrate to your yards there?maybe 3000 folks are bitten yearly I stayed for a couple of weeks in a place called Currumbin. It was very nice and had a number of useful facilities, not sure what the school was like, but seemed ok. Not sure how far from Brisbane you are looking to live. Currumbin is approximately a 45 minute drive south from Brisbane. Of the towns you listed only Gympie is anywhere near the Sunshine Coast. I don't know where Berserker is or Park Avenue and North Rockhampton is a day's drive at least. Try Nambour, Tewantin, Caloundra, Alexandra Heads. The Sunshine Coast is a growing area. I have no idea about your question, I just wanted to say I find your avatar strangely beguiling. The Sunshine and Gold Coast are quite expensive. Going up further north towards Townsville is cheaper but also much hotter. Also the central and north coast of NSW (the state below queensland) has some really nice spots. Areas north of Newcastle are nice. Newcastle is a large industrial town and has hospitals. It is still nice and warm up there. If you are looking for a hospital job (I am an RN) - they are very short of nurses/aides in Australia so you would have no trouble getting a job. Have fun looking. hi again - glad to see you're still looking!!! the sunshine coast extends from Caloundra to Noosa. - a distance of about 1 hr to 2 hours drive north of Brisbane. Gympie is not part of the s.c. it is farther north - about 170 km or about 3 hours drive. It is a small town of about 50,000. There is a long distance train to brisbane. not much happening in gympie - good place to retire to - not near the ocean - watch for flooding in low lying areas if you move there - stick to high ground. Rockhampton is at least 650 km north of Brisbane - an 8 hour drive - pop about 60,000. Climate is more tropical, long distance train to brisbane, very booming, go ahead area because of mining inland & shipping port. has great potential for growth. many people live in Yepoon which is the coast from Rockie (it's not near the ocean either) never heard of Berserker or Park Avenue - where did you get those names from? check out the queensland maps websites listed below |
