there is more to do in perth then cairns but cairns is where you would wear td all the year and it does get hot during summer as cairns is in the tropics. perth is a bigger and busier city then cairns.

It's very hard to compare two cities - both Perth and Cairns are good places to live. You'll be sweating more in Cairns than Perth as it's in the tropics but t-shirts could be worn in both cities all year (apart from a few cold winter days).
