Bottom one is earth (it should be symmetrically below the other two but yahoo got rid of my space before it)
You'll find that equipment designed for 220-250V at 60Hz 'll work fine but of course 110V American stuff won't.

A lot of stuff is dual voltage. My Australian laptop and camera battery chargers work fine in the US.

Look on the item of equipment. Somewhere it should say the range of voltages on which it will operate.
