I wonder if any one can help?..I am flying toBrisbane in March07....fromthere on to mackay ..my flight is going to cost me ..Brisbane -Mackay ..拢238 could you inform me if I can catch a bus from the air port to Mackay ? one sving money .and two seeing your lovely country ..\I am not too young but cannot carry my case too far,,but if I can get abus could you pos. tell me the fare and how often they run to Mackay...I would be very grateful ta

拢238 BNE-MKY is too much!

You should be able to get fares for around $99-$200 each way (Circa 拢80-拢130 return).

Visit some websites for our airlines such as

www.jetstar.com.au

(They are the main airlines that fly between BNE-MKY)

Now catching busses:

I don't think you can catch a bus from the airport to MKY directly. You would need to go into town and get a bus from there.

You can either catch a train from the Airport to town, or catch a bus (they are the cheapest ways). Circa $12-$14 (AUD) for the journey.

You would catch a bus to Mackay from the Transit Centre (Roma Street Station).

There is only really one bus service provided by Greyhound. (www.greyhound.com.au)

At the moment you are looking at circa $150 AUD one way. The trip is around 16 hours.

Travelling by bus is a great way (although slow) to see Australia.

You would probably do better buying one of the bus passes than buying direct fares to Mackay. Have a look at this page:

yes you can get a bus to makka but i think it will cost round about 180.dollars. i think but i am in victoria and i am going from old prices. have fun in mackay it is beautiful their.
U can definatley get a bus from bris to mackay.......checkout greyhound bus service
Once you get to Brisbane you may find you will be able to find a cheaper flight to Mackay. (http://www.virginblue.com.au/flights/bri... I think a bus ride from Brisbane to Mackay could be a bit long (1000K's - 11hrs+) - hope you enjoy yrself.
yes there is a bus you may also consider going by train for part of the journey
you would get the train from the airport to bus station. they run every day.

There is definitely a bus from Brisbane to Mackay but I don't think it runs from the airport. Usually in Australia the bus depots are in the city centres. However there is bound to be an inexpensive shuttle bus that connects from the airport to the bus station.
