We stayed at Miami Beach Side Appartments. It is a low rise, only 3 stories, but had a two bedroom appartment, with kitchen, lounge, dining, bathroom, laundry and ensuite.

Was reasonably priced, about $1300 for 8 nights.

Another low rise is the Copacabana. It is actually in Surfers, so costs a bit more.

I've stayed at the Mecure Resort, it is good with kids, but not self contained.

Also, a bit further out is Treasure Island. One of the best for us, but then all are different.
