We plan to do Brisbane for two days and 2 days in Surfers Paradise.

I wanted to ask you if Brisbane is worth looking at?
Also, are there any romantic islands around brisbane for honeymooners, i would then skip brissy and do those + gold coast.

Anyways, you guys pls help me in plannin out the most romantic itenary.

Travel Tips
Brisbane is such a pretty city, great place for a honeymoon. If I were you i would rent a car though. It has beautiful bridges and little places you can only get to by car. We rented a convertible the first time we were here, due to the beautiful weather. The drive from Surfers is so easy, you jump on the massive freeway and it takes you right into the CBD of Brisbane. Is one of the nicest and easiest freeways I have driven on. Much like ones I have driven on in the USA.

South Bank is a nice place to visit. It is along the river, has restaurants and little rivers and pools running through it that you can swim in. There are markets and groovy shops all along the streets too. I suggest popping into The Fox. It is a great bar at the western end of South Bank, near the South Brisbane train station.

Brisbane city is great for shopping. You have to take a look at Queens Arcade, it is beautiful. Has all the top stores like Tiffany's and is where they are building David Jones's flagship store.

The Valley is the hub of the nightlife and cafe's. It is about 2 min from the city. There are fantastic places to eat and markets and the city's china town etc. Heaps of cools bars. Definently worth a look.

Mt Cootha is good to visit too, beautiful views over the city. It is a 15 min drive from the CBD.

Not really many romantic islands, except for Stradbroke which is difficult to get to due to having to get a barge, and there being very little transport on the island. But seccluded beaches galore.

The gold coast is ok, there is not much culture, very touristy. Great beaches.

Others
Brisbane is a really nice city, good shopping and restaurants if that's your thing. You can also take a bus (or car) out to a wildlife area and get a pick hugging a koala, walking around with kangaroos, etc., very touristy, but fun souvenir pictures. Fraser Island is off the coast a little north. It is whatever you make it. You can stay in a nice hotel and make it all romantic, or you can rent jeeps and drive around the island and then stay on the beach or in hostel and make it more fun/roughing it. Its pretty isolated, only one way on or off and no cities or roads, plus its an entirely sand island with lots of beautiful vegitation and clear lakes off in the middle of nowhere, you'd definately have privacy in a gorgeous environment.
there a a few islands just off Brisbane with car/passenger ferry's to them NTH stradbroke island & morton island are the bigger ones.
morton has Tangalooma Wild Dolphin Resort where you can see & hand feed dolphins & is a nice place to stay you may have to book accomadition if going there link here(http://www.holidaymagic.com.au/tangaloom...
brissy is nice quiet place but has a lot to see
gold coast is full of turists & has a lot to see
