Yes. I suggest you invest a majority of that money and keep around $20,000 to live on until you get yourself set up. Depending on what skills you have, you should have no worries about getting work, as there is plenty of jobs too be had. A 1 bedroom apt, depending where in brisbane it is, will cost around $200-$300 a week. The public transport system is good so you can get around quite easy.
