Planning travelling from perth to brisbane? |
Travel Info I am Adam just turned 55 and my spouse(Norliah 50) planning a holiday trip to australia.We love to drive from perth to brisbane.We are counting on details of rental of caravan and accomodation along the way or travel by coach/train. Making stopover in places of interest.Planning 3 to 4 weeks vacation. We plan to travel sometime in may/june 07. Travel Tips I have driven Brisbane -Perth return and its a bloody long way and boring. I would suggest you fly Perth - Adelaide, then drive through the Barossa Valley (big wine region) then onto Melbourne then up the east coast to Sydney then onto Brisbane. When in Queensland, check out Fraser Island, the Great Barrier Reef and Cairns! Others Not a lot to see along the way if you're driving. Look at the option of taking the train from Perth to Melbourne, then driving up along the coast from Melbourne to Sydney then to Brisbane. Probably a better (more interesting, less tiring) way to go. Hi, I live in Brisbane and would really not recommend driving to Perth. It is such a long way and not too much to see. I highly recommend going to Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory but do these by plane, not by driving it would just be too expensive (petrol is really expensive at the moment but airfares are as cheap as chips) and painful. You could do the east coast of Australia on a driving trip in 3-4 weeks, but I don't think you'll fit the whole country in! I don't know where you're from, but I think you are underestimating the size and vast nature of our country. If you have to cut it back, do the east coast (maybe even Tasmania) and go as far north as you can in the time you have...no doubt you will fall in love with places like the barrier reef and the like and stay a lot longer than you planned!
