Good place to live in brisbane? |
Travel Info Good place to live in brisbane? Travel Tips Anywhere on the Northside..... Source(s): ;-) Other Travel Tips Northside of Brisbane is nice, Ferny Grove, Samford if you like a bit of space but still 20mins to city. Definitely northside and preferably closer to the city. The further out you go the rougher it gets. Stick to a 15km radius from the city and you should be right. I think these suburbs have more character - they are more indicative of the queensland way of life. The streets and houses have real character whereas the newer suburbs or housing estates (shiver) are quite depressing. They are our future slums (like woodridge, inala, logan were 30 years ago). Ahhh see I'm a west side girl. Got the Indro mall, University of Queensland and good restaurants and pubs dotted along the way. Toowong's a good hub, as is Indooroopilly. Graceville, Sherwood, Corinda are also really nice suburbs with only a short drive to Indro shopping centre. We used to live further west in Mt Ommaney which was very nice and homely with big houses. Even further out is Forest Lake which is a new estate sorta. I'd avoid Ipswich, that's about it really. Inner city east is also nice, just been revamped and now a bit poshy. Lived in Toowong, Mt Ommaney, Redbank plains (just outside of Ipswich) Oxley, Corinda, Darra, Inala and Ashgrove (north) |
