Which suburb in Brisbane Australia - relocation help? |
Travel Info We are a family of 3 - our son is 18 months old. We're relocating to Brisbane. We're of Indian origin. We need some help with pros and cons of suburbs around Brisbane. I will be working in the CBD, but I can live with a commute - what is more important is the neighborhood - safe, peaceful, lots of family activities, and fresh air. We're looking to rent a 3 bedroom house to start with, and can go upto 2000AUD for the rental. We will be buying a car when we move there, and will not be using public transportation. Your advise will be much appreciated! Travel Tips Hi, Firstly, welcome to Brisbane and Australia. Brisbane is a great place. Heaps to do with family or singles. There is hardly and crime and most people are layed back and always willing to help. I am sure you will enjoy the change as well as the fresh air. As for the best place to live, that is entirely your choice, and is dependant on your likes and dislikes as well as how far you are willing to travel to and from work (CBD) (this is an essential point as traffic can get very bad during peak hour) Tips: Wellington Point - Bay area, right near the water (lots of fresh air and family atmosphere - 40-50km from the CBD (East) Carindale - Near the city, close to shops etc - 20-25kms from the city (South) Indroopilly - Close to shops etc 20-35kms from CBD. Most suburbs are very good for families. Although from an insiders point of view there are a few suburbs that one would not recommend i.e Woodridge. Please see the attached website address. This will give you some good background information on suburbs and their attributes. Source(s): http://www.ourbrisbane.com/living/suburb... Other Travel Tips Not sure how helpful this will be, but back in 1967, Paddington was nice. We used the tram all the time. Lived across the street from a sports hall of some sort. Everything we needed was close by. I remember a fair sized hill leading down from the house. |
