What are the better Suburbs in Toowoomba? |
Travel Info Can you give me a few reasons why they are better than others? Elizabeth if you're still out there I'm sure you could help! Travel Tips I totally depends on what you're looking for. There are beautiful old Queenslander homes with large, established gardens, in Newtown and areas close to the CBD. You'll find new and near new executive style homes in Middle Ridge and other fairly recently developed suburbs across the city. There are also reasonably priced every day Australian 3 and 4 b/r homes all over the city. Outside the city boundries to the north is Highfields, south Westbrook and west is Cotswold Hills to name a few areas within 15 to 20 mins of the CBD. To go east you have to drive down the Range. (Toowoomba is on top of The Great Dividing Range) At the bottom of the Range is Withcott and many who work in the city live there too. Driving up and down the Range on a daily basis isn't something I'd enjoy, but that's my personal choice. One thing you must bear in mind is they do have cloud (fog, thick fog)settle on top of the Range at times. Often it's confined to the eastern suburbs. I chose to live in the western suburbs, less damp, less fog. Personal choice again. There are a couple of dodgy areas but every city has them and usually the house prices reflect that situation. Ask anyone you meet when you get there, shop assistants etc they'll tell you. It's not up to me to upset the locals. Good luck with the move, we enjoyed our years there. Hi Hugo, as I said, where anyone lives is their personal choice. You choose to live in the east and I chose the west. So, we have two areas of town that are obviously ok to live in. I'll bet you'd like some rain right about now with or without fog. Cheers Liz. Others i'm pretty sure Toowoomba IS the suburb! me again. i live on the east side of toowoomba and we have fog occassionly hardly a reason not to live this side of town. |
