Travel Info We are looking at moving to Brisbane. What are some nice suburbs to consider? Any to avoid? Travel Tips Move to the Bayside suburbs. Wellington Point, Birkdale, Thorneside, Cleveland, Thornlands, etc. These areas are just outside Brisbane City Council. They are in the Redlands Council. They are not on lvl 5 restrictions. You can wash your car! only a train ride into the heart of the city. Best place to bring up a family :) Friendly and everything you need/want is readily available. Others I like the south side, really its all pretty good, avoid areas like woodridge, forestlake and there surrounding areas. I would recommend these area's if you want to be closer to the city: Hamilton, Clayfield, Ascot, Hendra, Wooloowin, Toowong, Indooroopily, Paddington, Wilston, Red Hill, Spring Hill, Ashgrove, Bulimba, New Farm For god sake why do you want to move to Brisbane, they are running out of drinking water fast!!! No rain, lack of it for years. Water restrictions no: 5 (which means you cannot water your gardens, wash your car, driveway, etc) Water rates are on the increase dramatically. Dont you watch the news??? The local government is trying to convince people not to move to Brisbane or the sth east corner of Qld. RUNNING OUT OF DRINKING WATER!!!! The dams are very low. The worse drought in so many years. And It gets worse. Traffic grid locks on major roads daily, running out of housing, too many people moving to Brisbane. There are plenty of suburbs to avoid in Brisbane especially these days. If you do happen to move there still, I would avoid - Inala, Woodridge/Beenleigh areas, Logan city areas, Ipswich areas, Goodna, Marsden, Browns Plains, Loganlea, Kingston, go to the North Side. |
