There are several sets of traffic lights you can watch. Or if you feel terribly in need of excitement there may still be an umbrella shop you can browse through.

Hi there,

Please ignore the unhelpful and somewhat laconic answers to your questions. Typical australian humour.

Capalabe is the central shopping hub for the Redlands Shire. The suburb has a great deal of DIY stores, hobby stores, furniture, white goods and electronic shops.

Capalaba is not generally known for having tourist appeal. But that's only if you aren't from around here. Capalaba has its very own natural botanical gardens in the form of Indigscape. The place has a few walking paths that take you through great looking bushland.

Also, Capalaba is not very far from Cleveland and Wellington Point as well. You could make your way to Caplaba, hop on a ferry and explore all that the fantastic Stradbroke Island has to offer.

If you are willing to take the time, you'll find that Capalaba has a few secrets and best of all is part of the excellent Redlands Shire.

P.S. We aren't too far from Brisbane, just a twenty minute drive to the city. Your options are virtually limitless.
See the answer above, it pretty much sums it up. I wouldn't look at Capalaba as being a real tourist attraction. It's not even really the 'shopping district' aside from the fact that it has two shopping centres directly opposite each-other. One of them usually is full of empty shop spaces up for rent

Most people that I know that live in the Redlands travel outside of the shire to do their shopping. Capalaba is more... not really industrial, but full of car yards and large homewares retailers.

I reccomend seeing other places in the Redlands if that is where you are headed, go to the Islands or out to Wellington Point and Cleveland. These are much nicer as they are right on the bay.
