Who used to own the Bristol Omnibus Company?

The Bristol Omnibus Company provided bus services throughout a large area of the West Country. It was absorbed by the National Bus Company in the late 1960s, and is now part of the First Group. I would like to know who onded the company prior to The National Bus Company.

Any information about the Western and Southern National would also be appreciated.
