If someone moves their family to the UK from the US so they can work there what do they need to do?

What type of visas would they have to get and would they be able to take vacations to countries other than the UK and the US, if so what type of visa would you need in order to get back into the UK? Would they have to return to the US every 10 years to get a new US passport, or would it be possible for them to become naturalized citizens of the UK by that time? Thanks!
