Travel Info actually if you're there or have been there recently what would be better is a great discription of it. what the air port is like. is a green place or big city? anything details details details! Travel Tips Well, Pixie, my little friend, Bristol is a nice town stretching frm the Bristol Channel Eastwards until it collides with Bath. Bristol is built along the narrow valley of the River Avon and on the adjoining hills. It is a big city. The nicest parts are in the valley, around the harbour, and in the neighbourhoods of Clifton and Redhill. To the South it all falls apart until you get into Somerset. It's mainly built from limestone. The traffic is no worse than anywhere else. The council is crap and the education service not good. Shopping is OK with one mall in particular, Cribbs Causeway, attracting many shoppers. It has two professional soccer teams, one professional rugby team, and by a quirk of fate has the county cricket ground for Gloucestershire. Politically it tend to be left - ish, there is a large West indian population around Saint Pauls, and a generally multicultural population anyway, and it can all get ugly once the chavs are out drinking. It has two large universities, but not really much of a studenty admosphere. The airport is about ten miles to the South set high in the hills, and isn't really impressive despite having a new terminal built. Bristol; is surrounded by beautiful countryside and has the Downs, and other green areas within the town.
