You enter the dates and times you want to leave your car there, choose a car park (I've given you a link below so you can see how they're different), and then pay online in advance -- apparently, you can save money on the gate price by doing it this way, particularly when you pre-book more than 7 days in advance. It's official airport parking so will likely be very safe and secure; I wouldn't worry about that.
